According to the report of the World Giving Index-2023 (World Giving Index), Turkmenistan is in the top twenty among 126 countries of the world, namely, it ranks 19th.
The overall charity index of Turkmenistan is 43%, it includes 32% - monetary donations, 53% - helping strangers, 43% - volunteering.
The rating of charity opens the USA - 58%; in 20th place is Nigeria (42%); on the 18th - Germany (43%). The lowest line of the rating is Greece (16%).
The World Giving Index is based on research conducted by the American Gallup Institute in 153 countries around the world. When compiling the index, three main aspects are taken into account: the transfer of funds for charitable purposes, the frequency of helping strangers, participation in volunteer activities.
