Turkmenistan launches the carbamide plant

On 17 September President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov attended the opening ceremony of the carbamide manufacturing facility in Balkan velayat.

According to the state information agency TDH, the facility in Gazabogaz, with a value of over $1.570 billion, was built jointly with Japan-based Mitsubishi Corporation and Turkey-based Gap Inşaat Ýatirim ve Diş Ticaret A.Ş.

The annual capacity of the facility, which will be exporting its products, is 1,155,000 tons of carbamide.

The news outlet report that during the opening ceremony three certificates were handed over to the President.China presented the Certificate of International Scientific Center for Fertilizers (CIEC), which testifies to high quality of products at the newly-built natural gas chemical complex.

Germany awarded the Certificate on Recognition of Use of Innovative Technologies.The International Society of Organic Agriculture Research (ISOFAR) presented the certificate acknowledging the plant as one of the most efficient and environmentally sustainable projects.

At the end of the ceremony, the head of the state was presented with a carpet on behalf of the staff of the manufacturing facility.
