Turkmenistan is the leading supplier of pipeline gas to the People's Republic of China, TASS reported Thursday, citing the General Administration of Customs of China.
According to the report, China imported Turkmen gas worth $4 billion from January to May of this year.
Currently, Turkmenistan exports natural gas to China through three pipelines running along the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China route, with a capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
From January to March of this year, China imported Turkmen gas worth $2.4 billion.
