Turkmenistan marks 538th anniversary of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babura

An online briefing dedicated to the 538th anniversary of the birth of the poet-philosopher and statesman Zahiriddin Muhammad Babura was held today at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the State news agency of our country reports.

The meeting was attended by representatives of diplomatic missions, heads of universities, faculty and students of the two countries, as well as media workers.

The current video conference will be an important step in strengthening the brotherly Turkmen-Uzbek relations and joint study of the historical and cultural heritage of our countries.

During the briefing, the speakers noted that the peoples of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are the guardians of the cultural and historical heritage of the ancient civilizations that have had a huge impact on the course of world history.

They have preserved their identity, religion, language, original cultural and spiritual values, accumulated by previous generations, can rightly be proud of their glorious and rich past.

The online meeting also mentioned the chronicles that have preserved the abundant evidence that in many parts of the East, as well as in India, the historical and cultural ties between the Turkic peoples and the Indians, which originated in deep antiquity, can not only be considered.

The interconnection of cultures of these two ancient peoples continues to develop successfully in the third millennium.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan A.Kuchkarov, Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan K. Karimov also addressed the briefing.

The Uzbek side noted that the reception of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan A.Kamilov, who arrived in Ashgabat at the head of the delegation of his country is also an evidence of the closeness and coincidence of positions of the two countries on topical issues of international and regional policy.

It was stressed that the interstate dialogue is based on the agreements reached during regular contacts between the Presidents of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, and in recent years has been marked by the intensification of multilateral cooperation in trade, economic, investment and other economic, cultural and academic spheres.

The emphasis was also on the foreign policy priorities of the two countries around the tasks of ensuring peace, security, sustainable development and prosperity of Central Asia, the implementation of infrastructure and transport and communication projects to enter new regional markets.

Speaking about the poet Zahiriddin Muhammad Babure, the participants added that his legacy is important not only for the Turkic peoples, but also for the whole of humanity.His fellow thinkers, great Turkmen poets and statesmen Bayram Han and his son Abdurahim Han are symbols of friendship and brotherhood between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

At the end of the briefing, the sides expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation and for the next meetings in Ashgabat and Tashkent.

Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur is a great Uzbek poet, thinker, historian and statesman; founder of the Baburid dynasty and empire.Babur's scholarly work occupies a special place in the Treatise on Arousal (1523-25), which deals with the theory of the eastern metric of arousal.

In 1521 he wrote the philosophical-religious work “Mubayin”, which outlined 5 fundamentals of Islamic Sharia.

The talented writer left the immortal story of his life “Baburname” - a wonderful example of prose and a valuable historical source, which has entered the treasure of world culture.
