Turkmenistan national tennis team defeated Mongolia in the game of Davis Cup

The national tennis team of Turkmenistan beat the Mongolian team in the match of the 2nd tour of the group stage of the IV group of Asian and Oceania zone. The game ended with a score 3:0 within the frame of “B” group (subgroup “A”) in Bahrain.

Yuri Rogussky beat Undrakh Purevdorj - 6:4, 6:3, Meylis Orazmuhammedov defeated Khatansuikh Batbayar— 6:1, 6:2. The pair Meylis Orazmuhammedov/Yuri Rogussky turned out to be stronger than the Mongolian duo Gunburd Batjargal/Undrakh Purevdorj — 6:4, 7:6.

The national team of Turkmenistan won the second victory at the tournament, the Mongols suffered the first defeat. In the third round, on October 20, the Turkmen national team will play with the Cambodians.

As per the Rules of the competition, the winners of “A” and “B” will play in the determinative match for the right to take part in Group III of the Asia and Oceania zone in 2023.

The Davis Cup is the largest international team competition in men’s tennis, which has been held since 1900.
