Turkmenistan opens a monument to Soviet soldiers in Moldova and invites the Moldova president to pay a visit (photos)

The government of Turkmenistan has funded the major reconstruction of the monument located in the village of Delakeu in Moldova and the installment of the monument to Soviet soldiers fallen in the battle for this village.

On 15 May the opening ceremony with the participation of Moldova’s President Igor Dodon headed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, according to the information posted on Facebook pagepersonally by the President of Moldova.

According to him, among those who died in the battle for these villages is Nurmurad Sarukhanov, the Turkmen poet, writer and journalist, whose place of death and the burial site were not known for a long time.

Igor Dodon is scheduled to pay a reciprocal visit to Turkmenistan in September this year.

“I have accepted the invitation of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov to visit his country. My visit to Turkmenistan is scheduled to be held in September 2017”, — the President of Moldova wrote in the social network.
