Turkmenistan Purchases Five New Freight Locomotives

Türkmendemirýollary (Turkmen Railways) Agency has purchased five mainline freight locomotives made in Russia.

The freight trains assembled by Bryansk Machine-Building Plant of Transmashholding JSC are designed for operation under severe climatic conditions on the sections with complicated track profile, the official Turkmen media reported on Saturday.

These delivered freight trains will replenish the fleet of locomotives of the Turkmen state company Demirýollary OJSC, which provides freight and passenger transportation services.

In October last year, the Russian-made TEP70BS passenger diesel locomotive and 2TE25KM mainline freight diesel locomotive were delivered to Turkmenistan. The delivery was carried out in accordance with the contracts concluded in October and November 2020 between Demirýollary OJSC and the Russian Transmashholding JSC.
