Turkmenistan was re-elected to the Administrative and Budget Committee of the Bureau International des Expositions for 20262027 during the organization’s 177th General Assembly in Paris on November 25, 2025.
Turkmenistan was represented at the meeting by the country’s Ambassador to France Maksat Charyyev, according to the Turkmen Embassy.
Delegates approved key commission reports and final presentations on the Expo 2025 Osaka and the Milan Triennale. Preparations for the upcoming specialized expos in 2027 in Belgrade and Yokohama were also reviewed.
The Ambassador also met with Dimitri Kerkentzes, Secretary General of the BIE, who congratulated Turkmenistan on its re-election and noted the country’s active role in the organization.
Discussions highlighted Turkmenistan’s national pavilion at Expo 2025, which has drawn strong public interest and served as a platform for showcasing the country’s cultural, tourism and investment potential.
The Ambassador said Turkmenistan will continue expanding cooperation with the BIE and strengthening international partnerships in culture, economics, innovation and humanitarian affairs.
The BIE is the intergovernmental organization responsible for overseeing international exhibitions worldwide.
