The UN Development Programme has delivered a new major shipment of laboratory equipment, reagents and consumables to Turkmenistan. The delivery, valued at more than $586,000, is part of a joint project with the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry aimed at strengthening the country’s clinical and laboratory services.
The shipment includes key components for upgrading clinical laboratories, such as benchtop centrifuges, single-use blood collection tubes and a wide range of reagents for comprehensive clinical and laboratory analyses.
The reagents include those used for general and biochemical blood tests, coagulation studies and ELISA test kits for hepatitis B and C.
The equipment and materials will be distributed to clinical laboratories across the country.
The project, fully funded by the Government of Turkmenistan, aims to modernize the clinical and laboratory system, ensure sustainable laboratory operations and significantly improve the accessibility and quality of diagnostic services for the population in all regions, including districts, cities, provincial centers and the capital.
