Turkmenistan’s CEC pronounces the Parliamentary elections were valid

On 25 March the elections of members of the Mejlis (Parliament) were held in Turkmenistan.

According to Turkmenistan’s Central Election Commission, as of 12 a.m. local time 54,65% of the total number of voters had voted and it was acknowledged that the elections had taken place.

At 7 p.m. at the closing of the polling stations, 91,69% of voters had cast their ballots in Turkmenistan.

It should be emphasized that, according to correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan”, the real turnout was extremely low.
