Turkmenistan's climate position published by the UN as an official document

The national position on climate issues voiced by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) in Dubai was published and distributed by the UN as an official document of the 78th session of the General Assembly, reports the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

The document has been translated into 6 UN languages and is available on the organization’s website. In it, Turkmenistan announces its accession to the Global Methane Commitment and the creation of a legal framework for the opening of the UN Regional Center for Climate Technologies in Central Asia.

The publication was made within the framework of the themes of the General Assembly on protecting the global climate and the formation of a zone of peace and cooperation in Central Asia.
