Turkmenistan's economy grew by 6.3% in the first nine months of 2024

In the first nine months of this year, Turkmenistan's economy has demonstrated stable growth at the level of 6.3 %, Minister of Finance and Economy Serdar Jorayev said at the international conference Construction, Industry, Energy of Turkmenistan - 2024’ (CIET 2024).

According to the Minister, the achieved indicators are related to the active development of the industrial sector and implementation of the programme on transition to circular economy. The country pays special attention to the introduction of digital and green’ technologies, as well as modernisation of existing production facilities.

As part of its industrial policy, Turkmenistan relies on the establishment of enterprises producing finished products with high added value. The government is stimulating the development of the manufacturing industry, which has helped to expand the range of products manufactured in the country and create new jobs.

In the energy sector, the country has achieved full gasification and electrification of cities and towns. Thanks to the creation of a unified gas transport and electricity system, Turkmenistan fully meets the needs of the economy with its own energy resources, Jorayev said.
