Turkmenistan sent humanitarian aid to Afghanistan

Today, a humanitarian aid was sent from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan in accordance with the Order of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reports.

The press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry notes that this delivery was the first "after the well-known events in the neighboring country."

Humanitarian aid to the country includes medicines, protective clothing for medical personnel, medical supplies, disinfectants, medicinal solutions, protective masks, surgical gloves, remedies and drugs for the treatment of coronavirus infection.

The delivery ceremony of the humanitarian aid took place in the village of Turgundi in the Herat province with the participation of the provincial leaders of the region, as well as members of the Turkmen diaspora.

It should be noted that Turkmenistan regularly sends humanitarian aid to Afghanistan. In particular, the neighboring country are sent food, confectionery, transformers, medicines, clothes and school supplies.

In December 2020, a humanitarian cargo with medicines and medical supplies, as well as food, textile and household products was donated to Afghanistan.

Earlier we reported that Turkmenistan and Afghanistan discussed border control issues at the Serhetabat-Turgundi checkpoint.
