Turkmenistan Set to Establish Urea-Formaldehyde Production

Türkmenhimiýa State Concern works on establishing the production of urea-formaldehyde in Turkmenistan.

Charymyrat Purchekov, the Deputy Chairman of the Turkmen Government in charge of the construction, industrial and energy issues, briefed on the steps taken in this direction to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov during the online cabinet meeting on Friday, according to the official Turkmen media.

The urea-formaldehyde concentrate is the basic raw material used at the urea plants of the country. It affects the preservation of quality and structure of widely exported urea fertilizers, which is especially important when transported over long distances, according to the Vice-Premier.

The main raw material in urea-formaldehyde production, methanol, is produced in plant for the production of gasoline from gas in Ahal province (Ahal GTG Plant), Purchekov said and stated the relevance of building the new production within this plant.

Following the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stated the importance of the measures taken to establish import-substituting production in the country and addressed relevant instructions to the Vice-Premier.

The government meeting discussed priority issues of state affairs and adopted documents aimed at further development of the national economy.
