Turkmenistan signed a memorandum of cooperation with logistics companies of Astrakhan

Representatives of Turkmenistan and logistics companies of the Astrakhan Region of Russia signed a memorandum of cooperation, the website of the Astrakhan 24 TV channel reports.

The document was adopted as part of an online meeting organized at the Astrakhan State Technical University. The agreement reached is aimed at developing the transport and transit potential in the region. At the same time, special emphasis is placed on establishing a regular ferry service between the ports of Turkmenbashy and Olya.

The ferry line will create good conditions for buyers of Turkmen products, first of all, carbamide, which is bought in large quantities by Russian entrepreneurs. A regular route will help customers rely on the certain delivery period and make the Turkmen market more attractive to overseas businesses.

During the year, 25 ships with Turkmen oil products crossed Astrakhan in transit. The parties are also establishing cooperation in the field of shipbuilding: it is planned to build several ships for Turkmenistan at the Astrakhan shipyards.
