Turkmenistan, Tajikistan Consider Creation of Joint Venture For Oil Refining

The General Director of Turkmen National Oil and Gas Company CJSC (NAPECO) Maksat Pirliyev and Ambassador of Tajikistan to Turkmenistan Farrukh Sharifzoda held a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan last Friday.

The sides discussed the possibility of creating a joint venture for the processing of oil and petroleum products, including the possibility of supplying them to Tajikistan, the Tajik Foreign Ministry said in its Monday press release.

The officials also discussed bilateral trade and economic issues during the meeting.

Established in January 2016, NAPECO CJSC conducts exploration and drilling, produces oil and gas as well as implements international projects in the oil and gas sector.

Among the shareholders of the NAPECO CJSC are the State Agency for the Management and Use of Hydrocarbon Resources under the President of Turkmenistan, the state-owned companies Turkmengaz and Turkmennebit, the state corporation Turkmengeology and the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries.
