A new hotel, a shopping centre and a restaurant are scheduled to be built on an area of 6.9 hectares not far from Ashgabat international airport.
The location of the construction site is at the intersection of A.Niyazov avenue and Khodzha Akhmet Yasavi street and was inspected by President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov when he was flying around the capital.
“The head of state familiarized himself with the project design, made a few remarks and adjustments, emphasizing that the geographical position of the country is on the territory where important international routes have crossed, which is reflected in the motto of 2018 “Turkmenistan, the heart of the Great Silk Road”.
It would therefore make sense to give the new hotel the name of “Garagum”, the state information agency TDH reports.
TDH also mentioned that the hotel design was registered with a patent issued by the State Intellectual Property Service with a view to protecting copyright of architectural works.
The khyakim of Ashgabat, Shamukhammet Durdylyev, also gave a progress report and briefed the president on the construction of “the second luxury hotel which is envisaged to be built in the picturesque foothills of Kopetdag”.
Let us recall that in November 2017 President Berdymukhammedov ordered the protection of proprietary architectural designs from plagiarism.
In December copyright fees were approved.
On 9 November 2017 the President presented his new book entitled “Turkmenistan, the heart of the Great Silk Road”, the title of which serves as a motto of Turkmenistan for 2018.
The book has been presented in a number of countries; the Ashgabat main square was decorated based on themes of legends from the book, and a film was made.
