Rashid Meredov, Turkmenistan's Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Margaritis Schinas, Vice President of the European Commission, at the Foreign Ministry building on Wednesday.

The discussions focused on the preparation and high-level organization of the forthcoming ministerial meeting in the 'Central Asia-European Union' format, scheduled to take place in Turkmenistan later this year.

The interlocutors delved into crucial aspects of Turkmenistan's collaboration with the EU and explored prospects for further development, with a particular emphasis on security, digitalization, water management, transportation, and education, as reported by official Turkmen media.

Both parties expressed a shared interest in strengthening long-term cooperation on a bilateral level and within the broader 'European Union-Central Asia' framework. During the meeting, Meredov and Schinas also exchanged views on the upcoming High-Level Investment Forum slated for January 29-30, 2024.
