Turkmenistan to Host International Conference on Sustainable Transport

The international scientific-practical conference "Sustainable Transport - Contribution to Sustainable Development" will be held in Ashgabat on November 26, the General Director of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers Mammethan Chakyev said during the regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday.

The exhibition will be organised as an integral part of the conference to celebrate the adoption of the World Sustainable Transport Day Resolution, the official Turkmen media reports.

As reported, the conference will be conducted in a hybrid format. It will bring together representatives from the UN Development Programme Office in Turkmenistan, international and regional transport organisations and significant transport sector companies.

In response, Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed holding a high-level international scientific-practical conference to mark the World Day of Sustainable Transport.

The government meeting discussed essential tasks of the country's socio-economic development, drafts of several documents, and other relevant matters.

Ashgabat will host the first meeting of representatives of the Joint Turkmen-Kazakhstan Working Commission on transport transit and logistics matters on November 26, 2023.
