Turkmenistan to provide humanitarian aid to Afghanistan

Turkmenistan will send to Afghanistan medical supplies, food, textiles and household goods as humanitarian assistance.

This humanitarian act has become another step under the special Programme for the provision of humanitarian aid by Turkmenistan to its southern neighbor that has been approved in February this year. The friendly gesture is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of neutrality of Turkmenistan.

Today, the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a Resolution to provide another humanitarian assistance to the Afghan side.

According to the Resolution, the Ministry of Health, together with the Ministry of Textile and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, are instructed to form the content of the humanitarian convoy, including pharmaceutical products and medical supplies, food products, textiles and other household goods.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan will be in charge with the delivery of humanitarian aid.

In August 2020, Turkmenistan sent to Afghanistan medical equipment PCR diagnostics devices to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
