The National Leader of Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working visit to the city of Arkadag, where he chaired a meeting of the Board of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation. The Hero-Arkadag also reviewed progress in implementing the second phase of the new city’s construction.
The foundation’s vice president for medical affairs, Oguljahan Atabayeva noted that the news of the recent devastating earthquake in neighboring Afghanistan was received in Turkmenistan with deep sorrow.
The natural disaster caused numerous casualties and destruction.Following the ancient Turkmen traditions of humanity, compassion, and mutual assistance, she requested the Hero-Arkadag’s permission for the Foundation to provide humanitarian aid to Afghanistan and its brotherly people, especially to children.
Emphasizing the importance of sending humanitarian aid on behalf of the Foundation to the brotherly Afghan people — primarily children and residents affected by the earthquake — the Hero-Arkadag gave relevant instructions to Atabaeva and the Foundation’s accountant Y. Chernova.
The Hero-Arkadag noted that the humanitarian aid should include medicines, food, clothing, and other essential supplies for children in need, and instructed the Foundation’s Vice President R. Bazarov to oversee all related matters.
