Turkmenistan to Send Humanitarian Aid to Flood Victims in Pakistan

Turkmenistan will send humanitarian aid to victims of deadly floods in Pakistan, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a relevant Resolution, the country’s official media reported on Friday.

In accordance with the Resolution, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Textile Industry, the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan will donate to Pakistan the relevant medicines, healthcare products, goods and food products as humanitarian aid.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan is instructed to ensure the dispatch and organized delivery of the humanitarian assistance to Pakistan.

The Pakistani officials announced on Friday that deaths from widespread flooding in Pakistan topped 1,200 since mid-June. The government has deployed soldiers to help civilian authorities in rescue and relief operations across the country.
