Turkmenistan took part in the meeting of ministers of culture of the format "India + Central Asia"

Today, an online meeting of ministers of culture of the India + Central Asia format was held.

The meeting was organized at the initiative of the Indian side and was chaired by the Minister of Culture of India, Kishan Reddy. This was reported in the social networks of the Embassy of India in Ashgabat.

Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan Atageldi Shamyradov, speaking at the meeting, noted the historical ties between Turkmenistan and India, as well as cultural relations between the peoples of the two countries. In this context, he mentioned a part of the ancient sculpture of the Buddha, found on the territory of Turkmenistan during archaeological excavations in Ancient Merv.

The Minister called for intensifying cultural interaction between Turkmenistan and India, including holding such events as fairs, exhibitions, mutual exchange of theater groups, the source said.
