The leadership of the State Veterinary Service of Turkmenistan took part in the 90th Annual General Session of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), which was held in Paris from 21 to 25 May.

The forum was attended by representatives of 182 OEIE member countries and experts from international organizations.

Issues of epizootic situations of animal diseases in the world were discussed at the General Session. Particular attention was paid to the protection of wild fauna on a global scale.

OIE Director General Monique Eloi and OEIE and FAO senior representatives delivered reports on the implementation of the 7th OIE Global Plan.

During the meeting, administrative and technical resolutions were adopted, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.

WOIE (until 2003 called the International Epizootic Bureau) was founded during an international conference in Paris on January 25, 1924, after an outbreak of rinderpest in 1920 in Belgium.
