Two new vessels will be launched on the Caspian Sea in the direction of Baku-Turkmenbashi

Crossings in the direction of Baku-Turkmenbashi-Baku will start operating from 2022. The sea corridor will operate as a part of a Project to increase transport links on the segment of the China-Europe route.

The operators of the vessels "Shair Sabir" and "Mahmud Ragimov" are the JSC Turkmen Transport and Logistics Center and LLC ADY Container. They will transport containers in the direction of Baku-Turkmenbashi-Baku, the number of weekly crossings will double depending on weather conditions, AZERTAG reports.

It is noted that the first vessel between these ports was launched in April 2019. To date, according to ADY Container LLC, 17,500 TEU containers have been transported in both directions along this route.

The Project to activate and strengthen ship traffic between the Turkmen and Azerbaijani ports is implemented with the support of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport, CJSC Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) and CJSC Baku International Commercial Sea Port.

The implementation of the Program is aimed at the development of the transport corridor "Asia-Pacific Region-China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey-Europe".
