UAE offers early retirement to employees who could be replaced by robots

The United Arab Emirates has launched a program aimed at mitigating the effects of labor automation. Pre-retirement age employees whose functions in the future can be successfully delegated to artificial intelligence are offered early retirement. This approach is intended to reduce social tensions associated with the replacement of people by machines, russianemirates.com reports.

As Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence Omar Al Olama noted, AI should not cause fears, but rather be seen as a tool that expands employment opportunities. According to him, predictions about mass unemployment due to the development of artificial intelligence have not come true. On the contrary, robots increase the efficiency of human labor.
