UN Secretary-General to Visit Turkmenistan on Central Asia Tour

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres will visit Turkmenistan as a part of his upcoming tour of Central Asia starting June 29th. The tour will also include stops in Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan.

According to a UN press briefing this Friday, Guterres will engage in meetings with the Heads of States and senior government officials in each country.

In Turkmenistan, discussions are expected to focus on climate change initiatives and local development projects.

The Secretary-General's visit to Turkmenistan is anticipated to emphasize the country's role in regional cooperation and its efforts towards sustainable development. His tour will conclude on July 7, when he is expected to return to New York.
