USAID Launches Hotline For Turkmen Exporters of Fruits, Vegetables

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) launched a hotline to consult Turkmen producers of fruits and vegetables on export issues, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET) reported on Thursday.

The initiative, implemented with the support of the UIET, is designed to provide assistance to exporters to navigate the complicated rules of foreign markets and equip them with the best marketing practices.

Advisory services cover such export-oriented activities as the assessment of commercial requirements and proposals of a foreign partner, methods of risk mitigation through verification of the integrity of foreign trade partners, the application of uniform rules in international trade, and the use of market research tools to determine foreign customs tariffs.

The hotline operates by telephone (+993 65 50 06 52) and via e-mail (batyr_gurbangeldiyev@dai.com; ctjexportsupport@dai.com) from July 1 to September 30, 2021. Consultations are provided in Turkmen and Russian.

The USAID Competitiveness, Trade and Jobs activity has launched a cycle of export promotion advisory hotlines for horticultural producers in Turkmenistan since April 2020. The two previous hotlines focused on agronomic support and requirements for entering foreign markets.
