Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan have discussed measures to establish a joint logistics company within the Trans-Caspian transport corridor. The measures were considered at the talks between Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Baku on Tuesday.

The sides also considered the prospects of construction of warehouse infrastructure and logistics centers in the ports of Baku and third countries, according to the UzDaily news outlet.

The Leaders of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan emphasized the strategic importance of developing cooperation in the fields of transport and transit. The Uzbek side, in turn, emphasized interest in further increasing freight traffic using Azerbaijan's modern transport network.

Following the meeting, the Heads of State instructed to prepare a number of joint road maps and establish mechanisms for effective implementation of the agreements reached.

In addition, within the framework of a business forum with the participation of leading companies of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan held in Baku on Monday, SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) and Uzbekneftegaz signed agreements on cooperation in the oil and gas sector.

The meeting discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between SOCAR and Uzbekneftegaz in the fields of trade and logistics of oil, petrochemical and gas-chemical products.
