Video art exhibitions open in Ashgabat

Ashgabat will host the opening of two exhibitions within the framework of the Week of Culture of the European Union.

The Video Installation exhibition will open at the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan on October 25 at 19:00.

The Video Art Exhibition will open at the “Nadar” Gallery of the French Institute on October 28.

Free admission.

The exhibitions are organized by the French Institute in Turkmenistan with the support of the German and French embassies in partnership with the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan.

The two artists featured in the exhibitions, namely Theo Eshetu from Germany and Robert Caen from France, are the pioneers of video art in Europe, their work is in the collections of the most prestigious museums in the world, such as the MoMA in New York, the Center Pompidou in Paris and others.

Large-format video installations will be presented in the exhibition hall of the Academy of Arts until October 31. The Video Art exhibition at the “Nadar” Gallery will present the artists' works on screen and combine them with the work of the Italian videographer Samuele Malfatti, a close associate of Theo Eshetu.
