The Turkmen Agricultural University has successfully introduced a number of disciplines in English, proceeding from the concept accepted in the country on improvement of teaching of foreign languages and introduction of digital technologies in the educational process.
The developed linguistic skills of students TAU positively influence development of their outlook and formation as competent experts and allow them to take an active part in profile conferences and competitions both at state, and international levels.
Future veterinary surgeons, ecologists, industrialists, economists of agricultural branch, specialists in water conservation, machine operators and agriculturists with huge enthusiasm have shown the abilities of mastering English at the next competition held in TAU.
According to the competition’s conditions it was necessary to describe a chosen profession in English, thus the jury assessed correct pronunciation, logical statement of thoughts and their clearness for the audience.
Considering a number of applied terms in agricultural specialities, it was hard for students, but they have adequately coped with competitive requirements.For summarising even it was necessary to resort to the system of additional questions on specialities.
So what is a practical use of English for agrarians today and in the near future?It is clear that learning of a foreign language, and especially English, opens new doors and horizons for a young man.
But here are some real, motivating reasons.One of them is a possibility of studying of professional literature, reading of serious scientific works, researches, books, information on new technological opening in the agrarian sphere.
And they are published, first of all, in English.
The second reason is an expansion of one’s outlook and circle of contacts.The third is an increase of value and big potential in the opinion of the employer.
Polyglots always know where to go to work with knowledge of a foreign language and never remain without an interesting assignment.For such person there will be a vacancy practically in any company.
If he is also a high quality expert, for him the different companies will contest, raising the offered salary and offering more comfortable working conditions.
There is one more important reason is development of intelligence and memory training. Replenishment of knowledge in such area as language and social communications essentially influences rates of professional, intellectual and personal development of a person. And in the century of information technology and overload the information to train memory is extraordinarily important.
A significant reason is freedom from translators and convenience during visiting of other countries.The business trip passes to absolutely a new level when you know English and can use it at least at the average level.
Dialogue is a most sated source of the information, therefore any business trip will be more substantial and useful with knowledge of the foreign language.
Modern education demands modern knowledge and skills.
