Winners of the competition dedicated to the International Human Rights Day announced in Turkmenistan

Today, on the International Day of Human Rights in Turkmenistan, the results of the essay competition, which was organized for the students of the country by the Institute of State, Law and Democracy in conjunction with the UNDP Office, have been summed up.

Students from various universities of Turkmenistan studying international law took part in the competition dedicated to the topic of human rights.They presented their written works on topics such as: the role of international human rights law, international and national human rights protection mechanisms, international cooperation in the field of human rights and the implementation of international human rights law at the national level.

The jury of the competition included representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Adalat, the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, Institute of International Relations, International University for Humanities and Development, Institute of State, Law and Democracy of Turkmenistan, as well as UNDP representatives.

The solemn ceremony took place in the UN building: all the winners were presented with certificates of honor and prizes.

The competition was organized within the framework of the three-year UNDP project “Assisting in the implementation of the National Action Plan of Turkmenistan in the field of human rights for 20212025”, implemented jointly with the Institute of State, Law and Democracy of Turkmenistan, and was aimed at increasing the knowledge of students of Turkmenistan about human rights, according to a UNDP press release.
