The State Library of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan was donated 156 books within the framework of the Read Japan project, which is implemented by The Nippon Foundation of Japan.
As reported in the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper, the books are in English and their topics are related to the culture, history, economy, modern and popular art of Japan.
Yuumi Yoshikawa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan for Parliamentary Affairs, delivered a speech during the solemn book presentation ceremony.The Japanese diplomat reminded that an important event in the history of interstate relations was the official visit of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to Turkmenistan in October 2015.
That for more than 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations linking Turkmenistan and Japan, fruitful multifaceted cooperation has been actively developing between the countries, including in the cultural and humanitarian sphere and in the scientific and educational direction.
Altyn Kakayeva, Deputy Director of the State Library of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan, expressed her gratitude for the books provided free of charge and assured that these publications would find their rightful place in the State Library.
Let us remind that Ms. Yuumi Yoshikawa is in Ashgabat at the head of the Japanese delegation and yesterday she met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov to discuss further Turkmen-Japanese cooperation.
