A branch of the Korean company Daewoo Engineering & Construction opened in Ashgabat

A branch of the Korean construction company Daewoo Engineering & Construction was inaugurated in Ashgabat. The opening was attended by Korean Foreign Minister Park Jin and Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Baymyrat Annamammedov. The IIC reports this with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea.

Baymyrat Annamammedov highly appreciated the contribution of Korean companies to the development of the Turkmen economy.He highlighted Korea's participation in such large projects as the construction of a sulfur purification complex at the Galkynysh field and a gas chemical plant in Kiyanli.

He also expressed hope for further deepening cooperation between Korea and Turkmenistan in the field of energy and infrastructure.

Park Jin, in turn, proposed intensifying Turkmen-Korean cooperation. He emphasized the interest of Korean companies in projects such as the construction of fertilizer plants, the creation of natural gas liquefaction facilities and the construction of desulfurization plants, the source said.

Daewoo Engineering & Construction is a Korean construction company founded in 1973 and headquartered in Seoul. The company's major facilities include Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant, Nurimaru, Busan-Joje Fixed Line in Korea, and overseas projects of Suani Hospital, Menara Telekom Tower and Huay Ho Dam in Laos.
