A press briefing on the topics "Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan good-neighborly and fraternal relations" and "Permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan" was held by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Kazakhstan. This was reported on the website of the Embassy.
Ambassador of Turkmenistan Batyr Rejepov, speaking at the briefing, paid special attention to the fraternal Turkmen-Kazakh relations, which have been actively developing lately.
The development and strengthening of relations with Kazakhstan occupies an important place in the foreign policy agenda of Turkmenistan, because the two countries are linked by close friendly relations, historical community and cultural affinity of peoples.
Stressing that Turkmenistan actively interacts with Kazakhstan in strengthening regional and global security, the ambassador noted that the level of cooperation and coordination of joint steps within the framework of major international organizations is traditionally high. Trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties are consistently developing.
The ambassador highly appreciated the support from Kazakhstan for the neutral foreign policy of Turkmenistan and its initiatives, including in such important areas of international partnership as energy, transport and the environment.
The most important factor in the progressive build-up of productive cooperation, of course, is the regular exchange of visits by delegations at various levels, primarily the personal contacts of the leaders of both states.
Systematic meetings of Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev.Their mutual warm and trusting relations are the best evidence of the aspiration of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan to activate and expand the traditional partnership, which is successfully built in a bilateral and multilateral format, primarily through the largest international organizations, the ambassador noted.
