A Magnificent Success of the Violinists of the “Mukam” Ensemble

The International Youth Orchestra Art Week was held in Beijing, People's Republic of China, from 18 to 24 July of this year.As part of the cultural forum, which brought together talented youth orchestras from different countries, the event featured concerts, an orchestra competition, joint practical sessions, and master classes led by world-renowned conductors.

Youth orchestras, ensembles, and conductors from Mexico, Austria, Bulgaria, Indonesia, the Russian Federation, Turkmenistan, and the People's Republic of China took part in the event.Our country was represented at the International Youth Orchestra Art Week by the “Mukam” Violin Ensemble, whose members include students of the Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory and talented pupils of the Specialized Boarding Music School affiliated with the conservatory.

It should be noted that the repertoire of the “Mukam” Ensemble includes around 100 works by Turkmen and foreign composers.The ensemble is led by People's Artist of Turkmenistan Harold Neimark.

The ensemble successfully performs at national celebrations and festive events in our country and actively promotes national culture and art at international festivals held abroad.During the orchestra competition held as part of the International Youth Orchestra Art Week, the “Mukam” Violin Ensemble impressed the members of the jury with its inspired performance of well-known classical works.

The jury, which included distinguished conductors and musicians, highly praised the performance of the Turkmen ensemble.As part of the cultural forum, renowned Austrian conductor Professor Christoph Campestrini conducted master classes for the musicians of the “Mukam” Violin Ensemble at the China Soong Ching ling Youth Science and Culture Center.

In addition, the ensemble was presented with a special certificate, as well as certificates recognizing its outstanding performances at the concerts and its contribution to the international exchange of musical experience among young people from different countries around the world.

This served as clear confirmation of the high international recognition of the ensemble's artistic achievements.The winners of the orchestra competition were announced during a ceremonial event held at the National Theatre in Beijing.

The “Mukam” Violin Ensemble was awarded the “Classical Orchestra” prize and received a special diploma and trophy.This achievement is further evidence of the international recognition of Turkmen art.
