A meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the new Ambassador of Angola

The Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan held a meeting between the country’s Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmed Gurbanov and the newly appointed Ambassador of Angola (with residence in Moscow) Augusto da Silva Cunha, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports. During the meeting, the ambassador presented copies of his credentials.

The parties discussed the prospects for strengthening interstate relations and expanding bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic and humanitarian spheres. The importance of interaction within regional and international organizations, including the UN, was especially noted.

The Deputy Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan thanked the Angolan side for supporting the UN resolution initiated by Ashgabat “Strengthening ties between all modes of transport to achieve sustainable development goals.” The Ambassador of Angola assured that he would make every effort to further strengthen relations between the two countries in the spirit of mutual understanding and cooperation.
