A new air cargo route connected Georgia and Turkmenistan via China

Since July 2024, the Georgian airline Georgian Airways has opened a new cargo air service on the route Tbilisi - Meilan - Turkmenabat - Tbilisi. This was reported by the press service of the Turkmen diplomatic mission in Tbilisi with reference to the Turkmenabat international airport.

This step is aimed at strengthening trade and economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Georgia.

The new route complements the existing cargo air service, which has been operated by another Georgian airline, Geosky Georgian International Airlines, since October 2023. Their flights operate on the route Tbilisi Zhengzhou Turkmenabat Zaragoza Tbilisi.
