A new campaign train to travel around Turkmenistan

On 9 March a campaign train departed from the platform of the Ashgabat train station on a four-day trip along the route Ashgabat-Turkmenabat-Kerki.

“Artists including writers, photo correspondents, painters, scientists and university instructors will go on a journey with the educational mission to familiarize the current generation with the meaning of such a unique phenomenon as the Great Silk Road”,— the state information agency TDH reports.

Within the framework of the event conferences and meetings with representatives of local intelligentsia will be held in the country’s provinces.

A similar campaign train “to promote considerable achievements” of the country travelled around Turkmenistan in April 2015. It was reported at that time that the culture initiative would become a tradition.

Let us recall that on 26 January Bakhargul Abdyeva, responsible for organizing such events, was appointed Deputy Chairperson of the Cabinet of Ministers overseeing culture and media outlets.

She was charged by Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov with the task of preparing thoroughly for the festivities scheduled to be held under the slogan “Turkmenistan, the heart of the Great Silk Road”.

On 9 October 2017 the book authored by the President “Turkmenistan, the heart of the Great Silk Road” was presented in Turkmenistan.

The title of the book became the motto for 2018 and the film based on it was made.
