In the near future, an enterprise for the production of glycyrrhizic acid is expected to be opened and put into operation in the second industrial zone of Turkmenabat.

The construction of the facility is carried out by the private enterprise Mizemez gadam.

The enterprise will use technologies from the Italian company Adipson Ind. Srl for the processing of licorice root and the production of glycyrrhizic acid.

Along with local specialists, Italian, Serbian and Egyptian specialists took an active part in the installation of equipment, reports Jeyhun.news.

The main equipment has already been installed. Once launched, the enterprise will produce 390 tons of glycyrrhizic acid per year.

Glycyrrhizic acid is found in licorice roots; used in the food industry and as a medicine.

Let us remind that licorice root grows in Lebap velayat on the banks of the Amu Darya River. The collection and processing of the root is carried out by the “Buyan” agro-industrial complex located in Turkmenabat. Licorice root and its extract are also exported.
