A scientific and methodological conference on mentoring issues was held in Ashgabat

A scientific and methodological conference on the topic “The importance of using the experience of leading scientists in attracting young people to scientific activities” was held at the Institute of Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.

Director of the Institute, Candidate of Chemical Sciences Hallymyrat Atayev noted the importance of mentoring in the training of highly educated young specialists.Currently, about 50% of the employees of the Institute of Chemistry are young people.

Their number increases every year due to graduates of domestic universities and young people who graduated from higher educational institutions in China, Russia and Belarus.As it was emphasized, mentoring is one of the centuries-old traditions of the Turkmen people, ensuring the continuity of generations and the transfer of accumulated knowledge and experience.

Also speaking were the head of the department of “Inorganics and Analytics” of the Turkmen State University O.N.Geldieva and the leading researcher of the laboratory “Chemistry and technology of natural, hydromineral raw materials” of the Institute of Chemistry L.B.

Atamalov, who touched upon the issues of organizing joint activities of scientific institutions and higher educational institutions, integration of science and education.

Senior teacher of the Turkmen State University M.Gurbanov reviewed modern methods of improving the training of youth in the field of chemical technologies.The effectiveness of the “mentor-student” principle in the formation of a new generation of the scientific community was revealed in the speech of the senior teacher of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering B.

Also at the conference were students Gulbahar Berdyeva, Shanazar Byashimov and Eziz Hommatkulyev who spoke on the topics “Innovative membrane technologies for purification and desalination of salt water”, “Ecological and economic significance of processing plastic waste” and “Chemical methods for producing natural dyes for textiles using local raw materials”, reports the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.
