Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan delivers a video lecture on neutrality

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan Yazguly Mammedov delivered a video lecture to the students of the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi, timed to the 25th anniversary of the neutrality of the country.

The diplomat spoke about the features and role of neutrality as a legal status of the state and an instrument of foreign policy through which its national interests are realized.

The effectiveness of this tool in the practice of international relations is also indicated by the fact that, on the initiative of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, voiced on September 12, 2019, at the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, with the support of the world community, the coming year, 2021, was declared as International Year of Peace and Trust, the ambassador noted.

At the end of the meeting, which brought together Turkmenabat and Tashkent online, Yazguly Mammadov answered students’ questions on importance of Turkmen neutrality both for the peaceful and sustainable development of the region and on a global scale.
