An exhibition entitled A Celebration of Beauty’ is currently on view at the Dashoguz Velayat Local History Museum.Co-organized by the Regional Department of the Union of Artists, the Regional Department of Culture, and staff members of the Museum, and held as part of the Year designated as “Turkmenistan: A Land of Neutrality”, it marks International Women’s Day.
The themed exhibition brings together paintings, sculptures, arts and crafts with one of its sections showcasing works by students and teachers from art schools in the northern region.Although, at the core of this exhibition are works by famous artists, visitors are irresistibly drawn to paintings by young artists who devoted them to their mothers.
Given the theme, all artworks are imbued with beauty, inspiration and grace.Nurjakhan Shikhyeva’s graphic painting Seasons’, which is associated with Palekh-style of painting, stands out with its stylistic originality and versatile narrative elements.
Member of the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan Nargiz Shamuradova presents an impressive acrylic painting on velvet.On display are filigree jewelry by Orazguly Kakaev, a graduate of the State Academy of Arts, and a sculpture symbolically entitled Bilbil’ (Nightingale’) by sculptor Baygeldy Annamedov, who dedicated it to women folk musicians (bagshy).
A series of works by Dashoguz-based sculptor Sapa Akbaev that includes Architect’, Conductor’, and Drummer’ is notable for a non-trivial approach and abstract motifs.While a tapestry called Sunflowers’ artfully crafted by Dilaram Allabergenova impresses visitors to the exhibition with its realistic depiction and the use of sunflower seeds.
