Ashgabat and Bishkek agreed to expand cultural and humanitarian ties

Negotiations were held in the capital of Kyrgyzstan on intensifying Turkmen-Kyrgyz cooperation in the field of culture, sports and youth policy.Ambassador of Turkmenistan Nury Golliyev and Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan Altynbek Maksutov discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation in the humanitarian field, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.

The head of the Turkmen diplomatic mission invited the Kyrgyz delegation to take part in events dedicated to the election of the ancient city of Anev as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024, as well as the 300th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding poet and philosopher Magtymguly Fragi.

Maksutov highly appreciated the work being done in Turkmenistan to develop cultural ties and assured of his readiness to cooperate in the implementation of joint programs and significant initiatives in the humanitarian sphere.

Particular attention at the meeting was paid to youth policy. As Golliyev noted, Turkmenistan has a State Program in the field of state youth policy of Turkmenistan for 20212025, aimed at comprehensive support for the younger generation. The parties also identified sport as a promising area of bilateral relations.
