Ashgabat and Kiev universities meet online to promote dialogue

International University for the Humanities and Development (IUHD) in Ashgabat and the Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiev (IIR NUK) held a video bridge, which was organized under the support of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine.

Esen Aydogdyev, rector of the IUHD, was the moderator of the online meeting. He congratulated the participants of the event on the 30th anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan and Ukraine and briefed on main reforms in Turkmenistan over the past years, its foreign policy successes and socio-economic situation.

Rector of IIR NUK Valeriy Kopeyka emphasized that this meeting will give impetus to cooperation between the two universities in training professional personnel and proposed to consider the possibilities of conducting fundamental and practical joint research on topical issues, as well as to fix these possibilities by signing a memorandum.

The proposal was supported and the heads of universities agreed to study the issue in the working order.The meeting was continued by the academic staffs of the IUHD and IIR NUK, who exchanged views on the prospects for enhancing collegial contacts.

At the end of the meeting, a lively questions-and-answers session was held with the participation of professors and students from both universities.
