Ashgabat schoolchildren obliged to bring books authored by the President instead of damaged textbooks

At the end of the academic year Ashgabat schoolchildren are obliged to return textbooks they borrowed from school libraries in September.

Correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” report that school principals and librarians urge students to bring one of the books authored by President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov instead of torn or misplaced textbooks.

The cheapest of them, for example, “The source of wisdom” cost about 40 manats. The most expensive books are those devoted to horses such as “A horse is a symbol of loyalty and happiness”, “Akhal teke horse is our pride”, “Flight of celestial horses” and “Dashing step of a riding horse”.

Their price might reach 200 manats.

A woman, whose son is a student of Ashgabat school №55 is discontent with the decision of the school administration. She points out that such expenses are tantamount to fines imposed for administrative offence.
