Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, proposed during a regular online Cabinet of Ministers meeting on Friday to host a regional forum in Ashgabat in October of this year dedicated to the legal protection of industrial designs.
Additionally, he suggested holding another session of the Administrative Council of the Eurasian Patent Organization in 2025.
According to the official media of Turkmenistan, Vice Premier presented to President Serdar Berdymukhamedov a proposal for the country to accede to the Protocol on the Protection of Industrial Designs under the Eurasian Patent Convention, a pivotal document of the EAPO.
The meeting also included a proposal to expand Turkmenistan's representation in influential international organizations, specifically within the Eurasian Patent Office of the EAPO.
Approving the proposals, the Head of State instructed the Vice Premier and the Minister of Foreign Affairs to continue their efforts to strengthen Turkmenistan's constructive engagement with the Eurasian Patent Organization.
The government meeting also addressed several other state matters.
