Athletes from 186 countries will participate at the UCI World Track Cycling Championships to be held in Ashgabat

The head of the ARETI International Group of Companies, at same time a member of the Management Committee of the International Cycling Union (UCI), Mr. Igor Makarov, informed the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov about the preparations for the UCI World Track Cycling Championships to be held in Ashgabat this year.

The championship is scheduled to be held between 13th and 17th of October. It is organized by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Policy of Turkmenistan and the Cycling Federation of Turkmenistan, together with the UCI.

The World Championships will be held in the Velodrome of Ashgabat Olympic Sport Complex, that meet requirements of the International Olympic Committee. According to Mr. Makarov, cyclists from 186 countries will take part in the competition.

The International Cycling Union, for its part, is ready to provide all possible support in hosting the event at the highest level and managing organizational issues, including vaccination of participants that will travel to Turkmenistan for the World Championships, Mr.Makarov said.
