President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and members of the government delegation of Turkmenistan will spend in lockdown three days after the trip to China for the Opening Ceremony of the XXIV Winter Olympic Games,. The Head of State announced his decision at a Government meeting today.
Addressing Deputy Prime Minister Sapardurdy Toylyev, Chairman of the Emergency Commission for Combating the Spread of Diseases, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov asked how to act on the results of the visit.
Toylyev said that in accordance with the Regulations of the Emergency Commission, quarantine measures should be taken after a trip abroad to comply with sanitation rules. He said that the short duration of these measures should be 3 days, the average duration is 10 days, and the longest is 21 days.
"If the rules of sanitation require it, then we must also comply with them. According to the Deputy Prime Minister's proposal, the shortest period of quarantine measures is three days. Therefore, we will spend Sunday, Monday and Tuesday in quarantine," Berdimuhamedov said on air of the Turkmen Television.
Earlier, the President of Turkmenistan, in an interview to the Chinese media, said that the decision to take part in the Opening Ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Beijing "was made primarily by the understanding of the enormous importance of this event for the whole planet."
