On 15 August President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov held an ad hoc session of the State Security Council, where issues pertaining to ensuring security during the Games were reviewed.
At the meeting the President announced that “recently the number of foreign naturals entering the country is on the rise” and instructed “to provide high quality migration services, including the processing of relevant documents”, the state information agency TDH reports.
Moreover, the chairperson of the State Customs Service Yazdurdy Soyegov was charged with the task of closely inspecting the cargos crossing the customs border of Turkmenistan.
